We planned a snow trip to Queenstown NZ. We had a free day when we arrived before our good friends Hayley & Paul joined us, so we decided to drive out to Glenorchy which is a cute little town about 1hr out. I suggested we take wine & cheese (my favourite things) and have a picnic out there, little did I know I was creating the perfect setting for Luke to propose, as he had already planned to do it there. We walked out onto this wharf along the water, and there were a group of young dudes doing beer bongs haha. Luke asked one of them to take a photo of us two infront of the most magical snow capped mountains/view. Once the guy had my phone, Luke started to turn me around and begun to say how much he loved me and dropped to one knee… it was all a bit blurry after that, I was balling my eyes out and say yes. Lucky the guy took about 100 photos of the whole thing, it was amazing! Still after dating for 10 years, I never expected it. We then enjoyed cheese & wine, whilst facetiming our loved ones. 2nd best day of my life (wedding was the 1st haha).

We went to high school together LOL! We started dating at the end of HSC/year 12.

We hired a few stunning houses through Airbnb around Palm Beach / Avalon Beach. The night before the wedding we went to The Newport for dinner and drinks with any guests that stayed up there the Friday night too. Myself and my bridesmaids then all went back to our house and had a few (too many) drinks before going to bed. The morning of the wedding was super relaxing and chill. We started hair & makeup fairly early, and we all just chilled and listed to music, had a glass of champagne or two. The boys had a similar morning, they all went for a swim/surf, and just chilled out until the photographer came around.

We also wrote cards with nice little messages on them for each other, as well as for our parents / in-laws etc just to say thank you. A few tears were definitely shed reading those! My mum had to save hers to the day after as she knew she’d be a blubbering mess haha.

My hair was done by the amazing Lauren Ring from LOXX Caringbah, we did a side part with a curl/wave all over and one side pinned behind my ear to show off my earrings. Lauren was absolutely amazing, the bridesmaids hair all looked stunning too. My make-up was done by the one and only Zoe Martin – goddess of all makeup!! Do I even need to elaborate? She’s the best. We just did brown/gold tones, not too heavy but still with a bit of oomph.

I’m lucky enough to have florists in the family, my step sisters & step mum. They did all our bouquets which I showed some inspo pictures and they turned out exactly what I wanted. Some orchids, soft pink roses, pampas grass etc. Bit of a boho luxe style to suit. Rychelle from Love Stoned tied it altogether with her amazing dried palms in white urns at the ceremony, and added a few orchids & roses.

Chosen By One Day, Agata – It was strapless and had a hugging tulle wrapped bodice, lightweight satin base and a full layered tulle skirt. Completely opposite to what I was ‘looking’ for, but if it was for Amy at Love Marie Bridal Boutique Camden convincing me to try it on I would never have had it. Still in LOVE with it!!!

Senso Stellan ii heel - midas metallics. Bit of a thicker heel and comfy, and matched the underlayer of my dress perfectly.

I wasn’t fussy and trusted my girls to choose their own dresses. I just gave them the colour (Black) and they all chose different styles. It worked perfectly as they all ended up with slightly different necklines/shapes, which complimented my dress so well. They were all different fabrics too. From memory Camille’s was from Fresh Soul Miranda, Kel’s was BWLDR off The Iconic, Jade’s was Atmos & Here off The Iconic and I think Dan’s was Bec & Bridge.

4 x flower girl dresses were from an online store called Arabella and Rose. They were all the same, beautiful white lace dresses with tulle skirts. Page boy outfit was all from Big W from memory, it was just beige/bone colour shorts with a white button up shirt, and blue suspenders which were super cute on Taj (I never thought he would wear them haha).

My engagement ring has a larger diamond in the middle, surrounded by all little diamonds, and small diamonds on the band. I had my wedding band to match, with small diamond all along. Luke’s wedding ring is a charcoal grey colour, looks awesome!

My earrings were from Kitte, they were statement style earrings that were a brassy gold colour with pearls too. Bridesmaids earrings were from Lovisa & Colette.

The First Look. Luke and I decided on meeting up before the ceremony, and doing our bridal party photos before. A few reasons why, but mainly so that once the ceremony was finished we could hang at the park with all our guests and not run off and try rush to fit in photos before the reception. It was honestly the best decision and the highly of the day for us. Calmed our nerves, and also captures some really cool photos of Luke seeing me for the first time. Then we had some time altogether with the bridal party and took a few photos, and had a few champagnes to prep for the ceremony. It was awesome!

Luke and his groomsmen (all 8 of them haha), got their suit jackets off ASOS. So cheap and quality was perfectly fine. They were in a beige/cream colour jacket, Black chino’s from Zara and white linen/cotton blend shirts from Zara. They all just wore their own brown shoes & belt which matched great and saved them all buying new shoes for the occasion.

To love each other unconditionally for the rest of our lives. To support and stick by each other’s decisions. To go on adventures together, grow together. A best friend and lover that you can create a family with, and conquer all life’s challenges with.

Our ceremony was at Governor Phillip Park in Palm Beach, it was a beautiful beachside location. Reception was at The Boat House Palm Beach, just a few minutes stroll from the ceremony. The Boat House was the ultimate chill yet stylish venue, that suited us to a tee. Located on its on wharf, on the water with the most beautiful outlook/setting. We knew it was perfect the moment we drove up into the area. Palm Beach & the surrounds are absolutely stunning – if only we were billionaires we could live there!

• Ceremony/Reception Venue - THEME & STYLE

Boho Beachy Luxe -Rychelle was the mastermind in bringing all my ideas / colours / items together and creating the most perfect space at our ceremony.

The insanely talented and one and only Rychelle from Love Stoned, styled our Ceremony. I had always followed her Instagram since the first Shire Wedding Fair I attended, absolutely adoring all her stuff. For some reason I always thought it would be too expensive to get a stylist and Luke & I always said we’d just do it ourselves. When I had a chat with Rychelle, it made me realise she was not only reasonably priced, but who wants to ask a friend/family member to set up for them when they should be enjoying their day too. Less stress for everyone, and god I was beyond happy with our ceremony styling. Rychelle knew my style to a tee after our first meeting, I pretty much just said ‘I trust you and your style, so make it beautiful’ which she certainly did. We had SO many compliments on everything she did. It was absolutely stunning!!

Vicki Lever, from Cronulla. She is one of my mums best and longest friends. She is absolutely amazing at what she does, and I would not have picked anyone else. She took onboard that we wanted a short and sweet ceremony. Made it even more special that she had known me since I was born and Luke for 10 years too! Nice and personal.

We wrote our own vows which I’m so glad we did. It was a nice moment to switch off everything happening around us and talk from the heart to one and another, whilst still sharing it with our friends and family. We didn’t have any readings at the ceremony as we just wanted to keep it short and simple.

The Reception at The Boat House really didn’t need any extra styling, we loved it the way it was as they deck the whole place out with beautiful large potted plants and flowers anyway, all we added were a few white lantern lights along the waters edge and a few DIY aspects like polaroid station/guest book, little bathroom hygiene packs etc which the staff at The Boat House were super helpful throughout the whole process and set it all up for us.

As mentioned above, The Boat House have beautiful styling elements as is. Large potted plants, huge amounts of flowers, candles, beachy/coastal vibe with some striped cushions etc.

Tim Frawley – Weddings By Tim. Tim was THE BEST. Super chill, and captured every single moment perfectly, like I didn’t even know he was there!!?? Luke and I both weren’t huge on the whole staged coupley kinda photos, really just wanted natural ones. He did the best job ever. We were so stoked with all the photos!

My three girlfriends from school, Kait, Court & Hayley, joined forces and made me the best cake ever! It was two tiers two flavours (cookies and cream, and white choc raspberry). It was a semi naked cake, and decorated with a couple of flowers, and cake topper that said ‘Fucking Finally’ – sorry Nan! Haha.

Best band ever – Red Light Ruby. I literally didn’t leave the dance floor, as did many others. Soooo many compliments on them too. They kept everyone dancing and played a huge variety of songs. The nicest guys too, highly recommend!

Cocktail all the way. We never wanted a sit down wedding, too formal for us. The food was so yum, a range of 6 canape’s, 2 substational canape’s, cheese platters, a large pan of Paella, then cake!

We had beer, wine & champagne included, and lots of it!

Another moment would be right at the very end of the reception, the band played the very last song and my step brother Luke along with all the other men, put Luke & I on chairs and lifted us both above their heads. Lets just say I was scared shitless, but it was sooo fun and a great way to end the party!

We went to the Philippines for 3 weeks, and were blown away – it was paradise!!! We visited Siargao, Boracay, El Nido & Coron. Perfect amount of romance, adventure and relaxation. Best holiday yet! Bring on the next.
