BROOKE & NATHAN
GUEST | 96
HOW DID YOU MET
We’ve been together for eleven years, and met when I was 16 on a high school cruise! Nathan spotted me on the train bound for the city, but it wasn’t until my group of girlfriends stopped outside Woolworths that the boys struck up conversation. Nathan and I hit it off instantly and spent the whole cruise together- the rest is history!
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
After being together for a while, a lot of people (myself included) thought there might be a proposal on the cards around the time of our ten year anniversary. However, Nathan wanted to surprise me and planned the perfect proposal when I’d least expect it. We had just purchased a house together and on moving day, his friends tricked me into opening the back of the removalist truck on the driveway of our new home- he was there on one knee and I couldn’t have been more surprised! It was absolutely perfect and such a good way to start the next chapter of our lives together.
WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS TO YOU
After being together for almost eleven years, marriage is a symbol of our deep love and commitment to each other. It’s the start of a new chapter of our already amazing life together!
GROOM + GROOMSMEN ATTIRE

PREPARATION – COUNTDOWN BEGINS
Seeing as everyone arrived on Friday night, the wedding morning was pretty chilled! We did yoga in the morning with everyone and then my bridesmaids & I got ready in a little beauty studio on the property. It was nice to feel like we were getting ready with all of our guests who would run past and wave, however we did tuck ourselves away to get dressed in the hour before the ceremony.
Tania at Ruusk created our wedding bands and we absolutely love them. Nathan’s signet ring was engraved with a little palm tree which we used across a lot of wedding stationary- it’s such a special piece!
HAIR & MAKEUP
Hair- Kayla Goss Bridal
Makeup- Haylee Davies, Nourish Me Beautiful
These girls were so beautiful and we LOVED our hair and makeup!
Dress- Alexandra Grecco, purchase at HopeXPaige. My dress was the first one I tried on, and I knew it was ‘the one’ straight away. We still tried a few other stores & designers, but nothing compared to the first dress so it was a pretty easy decision!
Alias Mae, pretty casual nude shoes I’ll wear again!
Auguste- we loved the boho fit for a summer wedding & colour
JEWELLERY & ACCESSORIES
Earrings from Brie Leon
• Ceremony/Reception Venue - THEME & STYLE
If I had to describe our style it would be coastal boho luxe- neutral tones with pops of pastel colors! I love anything white, natural linens, rattan and native florals and felt that the set up from all of our vendors perfectly reflected our style, I LOVED it!
Our ceremony was planned to be on the beach, but due to a lot of rain we made the call early in the week to move it into the clear marquee we had hired. However, this only made it more magical- to get married surrounded by beautiful florals, watching the rain fall around the marquee was spectacular!
THE FLOWERS & BOUQUETS
Gypsy Carmen- the florals were one of my favourite parts of our wedding style. Clare did such a fantastic job- despite our ceremony location being moved into the marquee due to (very, very heavy) rain, she transformed our plan B into a floral wonderland! COuldn’t recommend highly enough.
RECEPTION DÉCOR & DETAILS
Because our ceremony was in the same space as our reception, we got to enjoy all of the amazing ceremony florals as the center piece of our reception too! I absolutely loved our table settings- the raffia placemats from Lovestoned, combined with shell placecards from My Creative Space and the sage muslin napkins I cut myself looked divine!
WEDDING PLANNER/ WEDDING STYLIST
We had a lot of amazing vendors all come together to create the style for our day:
Lovestoned Styling- style hire
South Coast Party Hire- marquee, tables & chairs
Gypsy Carmen- Florals & styling
My Creative Space- Linen signage & placecards
Wedding & Event Creators- coordination
We absolutely loved Lovestoned’s inventory and Rychelle’s beautiful pieces influenced all of the styling decisions!
I actually designed all of the stationary myself using canva and printed them at home! However beautiful paper from feather and stone and handmade wax seals bought from etsy made them feel super luxe even though they were budget.
I did get our signage made by my creative space, she's so amazing at what she does.
Walking down the aisle – Angle by Jack Johnson
Recessional – Bloom by Paper Kits
First Dance – Groovin Slowly John Butler Trio
Tamara Louis- we loved her calming nature, she was so beautiful to deal with and made the ceremony really special!
The Cove Jervis Bay. We originally fell in love with the ability to have all of our friends and family stay together for a wedding weekend, and really wanted to be close to the ocean- this venue had it all!
Mitch Pohl- I had followed him on Instagram for ages, I just loved his candid photography and eye for capturing the most natural and authentic parts of a wedding day. It was definitely challenging to get shots in the pouring rain, but Mitch was seriously amazing- he was such a calm presence on the day and we were stoked with the photos.
It’s funny saying it now, but DON’T get too set on the day running a certain way or let the weather stress you out! We changed most of our plans the week before the wedding and it turned out to be incredible, we wouldn’t have changed a thing. We still claim our wedding as the weekend the rain put the fires out!!
FOOD & BEVERAGES
Henry Clive- the absolute best bar staff and cocktails, hands down!
Rabbit and Co- the best food. Everyone raved about it!
YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT
Our favourite moment was on the dancefloor, looking around and seeing everyone we loved up and dancing- grandparents included! It was just a fun, love filled day and despite the weather being less than perfect, everyone had an absolute ball and it was the most special and memorable day of our lives.
OTHER MEMORABLE MOMENTS
Our vows were really special and I remember the incredible sense of love in that moment- there were a lot of tears!!
The speeches were also epic- my maid of honour had everyone up singing ‘lean on me’ at one stage, which was beyond hilarious.
I also remember having a boogie with just the bridal party before we made an entrance into the marquee, it was such a fun day made even better by our amazing friends.
HONEYMOON TIME BABY!!!
Mexico! We feel so lucky to have been able to go on our trip before the world went into meltdown. Our fave place was Isla Holbox- a little carribean island with the most amazing water, food and cocktails!
