HOW DID YOU MEET
On tinder (haha)
YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY
Daniel proposed on Christmas morning 2018 at home after trying to get our almost 2 year old daughter up early to teach her how to say, “Will you marry my daddy.” With the ring in her hand.
WHAT MARRIAGE MEANS TO YOU
It means joining together, being fully connected and committed to each other and our two beautiful girls.
PREPARATION – COUNTDOWN BEGINS
I got ready at home with my bridesmaids, mum and two girls. We all had breakfast together. Daniel and the groomsman got ready at Headlands. They enjoyed having lunch and a beach swim.
HAIR & MAKEUP
I wore my hair out with long wavy curls created with a wand curler. Makeup was elegant and natural with rose gold tones.
Chancery The Label- Slim fitting one shoulder strap, white, stretch polyester fabric.
Spurr- Nude with a low heal.
Emmy Mae Bridal by Made With Love. I choose this designer because I loved her elegant and slim style fitting dresses. My dress was romantic lace with a v shape shear front and back.
Billini- Nude/pink suede, small heal with two thin straps.
WEDDING LOCATION/ VENUE
Ceremony- Little Austinmer Beach. I chose this because we love the beach and spending time at the beach. It is a big part of our lifestyle and provides a relaxed location for us and our guests to enjoy.
Reception- Headlands at Austinmer. We choose this venue it is a beautiful new location and was close to our ceremony location. We didn’t want our guests to travel far in between locations. It also had accommodation on site which was convenient with two small children and putting them to bed with a baby sitter.
THE FLOWERS & BOUQUETS
Topical leaves and blush tones for the bridal bouquet and for the bridesmaids we went with white tones to complement.
CEREMONY DECOR & DETAILS
We wanted a paired back soft tropical feel in the florals, and I wanted blush to feature mainly in the florals. Rychelle from Lovestoned chose a white circle arbour and paired it with White urns which Fleur my darling then transformed with her florals, and we stood on a white moroccan bridal rug.
We had white bamboo chairs, that had fans for guests to keep cool as we got married in mid feb, and at the beginning of the aisle were white grinder tables that were layered with more white urns, florals, fans and mini parasols for guests. To tie in the blush we walked down the aisle on blush rugs, which brought it all together.
Our welcome sign, seating chart and name places were all in a blush pink so the them was carried throughout the whole wedding.
We had Lueth Ajak who performed at our ceremony and reception. He was able to loop parts of his music which was great for dance music and he got everyone up on the dance floor.
GROOM + GROOMSMEN ATTIRE
The groomsmen wore white L/sleeve dress shirt with light natural coloured chinos from YD and brown natural leather Windsor Smith boots. The groom wore the same but had a light blue linen dress suit jacket from YD
We choose not to have transport as I walked down the stairs from Headlands Hotel to the ceremony location.

YOUR MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT
There was lots. But I think hearing our vows was the most memorable.
Hallo with diamonds on the band. Wedding ring was a little bigger diamonds with diamonds around the whole ring. Daniels was a dark tungsten ring.
He married my brother and his wife. He also went to school with my sister and knows my family and grandparents so we thought it was nice to have someone known to our family. Brendan is very relaxed and natural in front of large audiences and adds a nice mix of humour as well.
WEDDING PLANNER/ WEDDING STYLIST
Rychelle was responsible for our wedding styling. She was very helpful with ideas and suggestions based on our venue, theme and what she had in her inventory. She kept the communication open and was always happy to answer any questions. She met with me and my husband two times at the venue during the planning stages which was very comforting to walk through and map out where we wanted things. Rychelle provided us with a mood board and that allowed us to see our wedding visions. She was very professional and created a beautifully styled wedding which was beyond our dreams.
Matthew Saco from The Evoke Company. We choose them for their natural look photos, we love the way he also captures all these candid moments and even when we are posing for photos they don't look so staged.
RECEPTION DÉCOR & DETAILS
We wanted the tropical theme carried throughout the reception but to paired back. We had a mix of wooden candle pillars running down each table, placed on white linen table runners and white marble platters, and Fleur my darling, did paired back blush roses in a mix of small white vases.
Rychelle set up a cocktail lounge area for us at the end of the room which had an array of bamboo lounges which had more blush ( can you tell its one our favourite colours) for guests to relax on mid meals and we had a large double peacock chair set up for guests to get photos in.
For the bridal table, we wanted it to not be so heavy, as guests tables had to be covered with white table clothes and had bulkier heavy padded chairs, so we opted for white tresses tables and paired these with out white bamboo chairs from the ceremony. And had it styled up with dropped linen and candles and florals.
We had a semi naked white iced two tier chocolate cake, which was then decorated in florals by Sam by Fleur My Darling, which was styled on a bamboo table by Lovestoned to match the rest of our styling for the wedding.
FOOD & BEVERAGES
Sit down shared banquet. Grazing platters for entrees and three main dishes with two sides for mains. For dessert they had 2 small canapes per person along with our cake.
For save the dates I used Etsy and sent them out via SMS just because it was convenient. With our wedding invites I wanted it simple so just used Vista Print and chose a blush pink invitation with simple font. For place cards settings I did this myself and used a company off Etsy and got them printed at Office works.
IF YOU COULD GIVE OTHER BRIDES ONE PIECE OF ADVICE…
Take moments to enjoy the day and the night. It is a crazy full on day that you will never forget but it goes way too quickly.
HONEYMOON TIME BABY!!!
We used a Spicers Retreat voucher that we got for our engagement at Spicers Tamarind in Maleny QLD. We chose to go here because we had never been before and was the perfect spot for a quick two night kid free get away. We did plenty of bush walks and explored waterfalls which backed onto the villas we were staying in.
